2005 Season

Hello, readers. As you can see it's been a long time posting. This blog will (for now) continue to exist, but in a more limited fashion.

In the meantime, please feel free to stop by once in a while, but don't do it with too much urgency. We thank those who have stopped by over the last year and continue to stop by, that does in fact mean a lot to us.

For day-to-day blog reading about baseball, I strongly recommend many of our links on the right, specifically the Padres' voice of reason, Geoff over at the amazing Ducknorts.

And a special nod/hat tip to Jon Weisman at DodgerThoughts, one of the baseball blog pioneers and clearly still one of its best. Jon also happens to be an incredibly kind and sincere individual who helped me along the way with a project of mine. I am in his debt.

We are looking forward to a (hopefully) more successful 2005 Padres season. The roster looks deeper, and there is now some flexibility to tinker with names such as Klesko and Nevin, and a franchise player in Khalil Greene, who also occupies the Padres' former giant black hole at short. And then there's Jake Peavey. What a nice group to build around. Should be interesting, especially with a year at Petco under their belts and knowing how the park plays (ahem, athletic outfield necessary, doubles hitters, and pitchers who like to keep the ball on the ground).

Enjoy the season, we'll still be around, but nowhere near as much.

Thank you again!
