Pads Win, Pads Win

Fish -3

The visiting Friars bopped an amazing 17 hits in 10 innings against the Marlins. Jay Payton went 3 for 4 with 2 walks and is heating up. Burroughs drove in the winning run with the bases loaded. Ismael Valdez shockingly drew a walk. The prodigal Miguel Cabrera was the Marlins' offense, going 3-3 with 2 runs and an RBI, hitting his 10th homerun in the process.

Check out this relief chain:

Valdez hands off to...

Osuna (4.02 ERA) who hands off to...

Linebrink (1.50 ERA) who hands off to...

Otsuka (1.06 ERA) who hands off to...

Hoffman (1.50 ERA).

Game over. Five scoreless innings of relief.

The line

The record now stands at 19-12 (.613). Not bad.

The problem is the Dodgers are playing out of their minds. They are now an amazing 19-10 (.655), a full game ahead of the Padres. Someone derail that express, please!

Today's game is the highly anticipated one between Adam Eaton (1-2, 3.54 ERA) and World Series hero Josh Beckett (2-2, 3.57 ERA).

I'll be out somewhere doing the whole Mother's Day thing, and you should be too, but if you get the chance sneak a peek at the TV, game starts at noon on Channel 4.
