"Ladies and gentlemen, we are seeing one of the alltime great playoff performances tonight"
-Marv Albert 5/11/04

No, we're not. What we did see was one of Kobe's better playoff performances. If you build up enough of those, your playoff resume starts to get fat and people start talking about you being one of the greatest of all time. Kobe just padded his resume in a very entertaining way, especially given the circumstances of having sat through an important hearing in his rape case just hours before the game.

What he did do was lead the Lakers, with help from an excellent performance from Shaq, to a 98-90 win, evening the series at 2-2 after the team looked dead in the water after two late losses in San Antonio.

Bryant's final line:

42 points
15-27 FG
2-4 3P FG
10-13 FT
6 Reb
5 Ast

Performances like that remind me how fun a game basketball can be, and I can't help but look back to what Michael Jordan used to do on a regular basis as I was growing up.
